But, 52 Memories is more than that. It is the legacy of one of the most promising card magic creators of our time. 52 Memories is one of those rare magic books that pass on the most fruitful creations from a lifetime of tinkering, experimenting and performing. It is an important book that shares the late Jack Parker's lifelong mission to create the most amazing miracles ever decoded from a single deck of fifty-two.
While a number of the tricks in 52 Memories have seen print before, some are taught here for the first time. All have been completely re-written, most with new ideas and finesses explained for the first time and some even with completely different handlings. This is Jack Parker's magic as Jack wished it to be remembered and the end result is a legacy that promises to inspire every student of magic.
With fifty-two items, 240 large size pages and a full-colour photograph section, you are invited into a one-time tour of Jack Parker's life in magic. The attractive two-colour printed pages in 52 Memories sit between thick hard backed covers, and contain all the elegance to sit alongside your most prized books on magic.
The Magician's Ltd Cookbook allows you to take a peak into the repertoires of some of the world's best card magicians. Stars such as David Acer, Allan Ackerman, Steve Draun, Dave Solomon have all contributed fantastic tricks that range from incredibly easy to knuckle busting sleight of hand - you'll definitely find plenty of great material for your repertoire.
The story behind this book is inspiring. In 1989 Jack Parker was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. After a year of treatment he was achieved a full remission from the illness and decided that he'd like to give back to give back to The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust; a charity that helped him when he was most in need. He collected magic from 23 of the world's top card magicians and along with Andi Gladwin started to compile a book of that fantastic magic.
Given how much they helped Jack, proceeds from this book will be donated to The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust to help assist their ongoing Leukaemia research and everyone involved in the Magician's Ltd Cookbook has given their time generously and for free.
Wonderful magic. A superb cause. So get cooking!
Here is a scant sampling of material that will soon jump from the pages of Dominatricks, into your repertoire:
Scarred Warp: many have said that this is the only genuine improvement to Roy Walton's Card Warp to date. See what happens when Tyler Wilson asks the intriguing question, "What's happening inside the card tunnel while the folded card is passing through it?" His answer will shock you.
B52 Shooter: your audience will never look at you the same way again. This is hands down the most visual Triumph routine ever created. Within minutes of learning, face up cards will start rapidly shooting out of the mishmashed deck in a flurry of motion ... with one hand.
Coke Inhabit: Coin In Bottle has never been so sweet. The bottle is given away with the coin still sealed inside as a keepsake. Note: There's a big twist to this routine that we're keeping a surprise until you read the book, or get fooled badly seeing it done live by someone who did. It's your choice.
Stick it to the Man: you love the strong mentalism but don't have the receding hairline required to pull it off? Don't fret, with Dominatricks Tyler Wilson tips a fresh new plot guaranteed to elicit just as many gasps as laughs.
Sloppy 30 Seconds: David Acer calls this "Tyler Wilson's brain-busting card transposition" and you'll soon see why. A card in your hand transposes with a card that is placed face up on the floor. Real original thinking!
Here's what it looks like: The subject is asked what color his shirt is. After responding the performer openly writes this color down so the rest of the audience can see it. The performer then places in subject 'into the proper mind set" and turns the board around to show the subject the word and asks him to "lock it into his memory". The subject responds with an affirmation that he has indeed done so. A few moments go by and the subject can't remember the written information no matter how hard he tries!
Inside are all new handlings that allow the effect to be performed on stage with props like a dry erase board, note pad/large scetch pad, playing cards, combination locks, or it even with your very own business cards. What also may be interesting is the performer can "bring back" the forgotten memory at any point having the subject instantly remember what he's supposedly forgotten.
Also included is a handling that teaches you how to make a specific ungimmicked combination lock open on any combination entered by the audience. They can actually take the lock home with them because the combination they enter really is the combination that the lock is set on!
Chris Kenner's wacky, off the wall, and insanely informative book Totally Out of Control is back in print! This book not only teaches you some magician fooling magic, but entertains you along the way. This hard bound book contains puzzles for the reader to solve on the way to learning this priceless material. There are thirty truly amazing effects that are explained both verbally and visually.
