THE 'COLOUR BURN' EFFECT
A blue backed deck is removed from its case. The deck is spread and your spectators are asked to call out the names of some cards that they see. You then take the named cards and, one by one, begin to magically change their back colour from blue to red! Offering a better look at the technique you announce that you will change the back of another card...
...IN SLOW MOTION!
With a gentle wave of your hand, the card begins to visibly change. The card actually appears to change as you move your hand back and forth over it! You pause halfway - the card under your hand is half blue and half red! Slowly, you complete the colour change, visually changing the remainder of the blue card to red. The card is now fairly shown on both sides - it has completely changed to red!. But, you're not done...
With a snap of your fingers the entire deck instantly changes to red before their already disbelieving eyes. They pick their jaws up - you move onto your next miracle!
DAVID FORREST'S 'COLOUR BURN'
Colour Burn is a colour changing deck routine unlike any other. The effect plays exactly as described above and includes a stunning 'slow visual' moment where the back colour of a card is seen to change visually as you wave your hand over it. This amazing visual transformation is accomplished via a devilish gimmick, the details of which are fully explained in the DVD and the special cards you need to achieve 'Colour Burn' are included inside the box!
The gimmick has a multitude of uses. You can CHANGE ONE CARD INTO ANOTHER or even PRINT THE FACE OF A CARD! Once you understand the gimmick a world of opportunity will reveal itself but, as a special bonus, a second effect is included on the DVD:
BONUS EFFECT: 'PRINT RUN'
A spectator is invited to select a card which is then lost back into the deck. You remove a card from your pocket which you allow your spectators to examine thoroughly - it is completely blank on both sides. You take back the card and ask your spectator to concentrate on their selection. Slowly and visually you begin to print the face of the blank card to match the selected card. Piece by piece, the image of the selection materialises on the previously examined blank card as you rub your fingers over it! You then display the back of the card - the back has printed too - the card can then be handed out for examination.

A blank Bicycle card is placed aside. Four Jokers are shown to have blank backs. One by one the magician prints colorful backs on them. After all four backs are printed, the magician magically causes all of the Joker faces to vanish and all four of them appear together on the blank Bicycle card.

It turns out that they don’t match, although the magician tries to prove in a humorous manner that they do! For the finish the magician proves that the two cards DO in fact match, both cards have standard Bicycle backs, whereas the rest of the deck is a ‘Rainbow’ deck!

You start by showing nine small black plastic lettered tiles that when assembled make the word STARTLING. You then offer to show something STARTLING with a deck of cards. A card is freely chosen (I'm lying it's forced), and the card is left face down in front of the spectator. Attention is then drawn to the tiles and the word STARTLING. One by one a single letter is removed, and each time another word is formed (this is quite intriguing by itself) until just the letter ‘I’ remains. The discarded letters are then rearranged and amazingly they spell KING CLUBS. The freely? Chosen card is revealed, and Surprise, Surprise, it matches!
A nice commercial little interlude.
