You show a blank card, while spreading out the deck to display the rest of the cards as being regular. They all have faces except the original blank card. The spectator has a completely free choice to pick and sign a card of their choosing. They then are allowed to examine both the blank card AND the empty card box. The magician then shuffles the deck and clearly puts the signed, chosen card back in the middle before shuffling some more. Then the blank card is placed in the middle of the deck, protruding for half it's length. The deck is then placed in the card box to further rule out any tampering from the magician, while the blank card is still plainly in view. Now comes the magic...The magician acts like he is going to push the card all the way into the deck, but about halfway through, he turns it around to show you that the blank card has changed to the chosen card in the blink of an eye!
You spread out the deck and show that all the cards are different and that there are no duplicates. You have the spectator slide out ANY card that they want while you turn your back. The choice is completely free. The selected card is placed in the spectator's pocket without looking, so that no one can know what the card is. You then write down his prediction about what you think the card is, and of course, it matches every time! Keep in mind that the spectator chooses a card from the middle of the deck, with your back turned, and you still guess the card every time!
Here is another strong visual effect from the creative mind of Masuda. You remove a hard plastic wallet from your pocket to show that it is empty. Closing the wallet, it is obvious to the spectator that the wallet is truly empty, as there are five holes going through said wallet, and if anything were in it, it would be visible. You shake the wallet, and suddenly and visibly, a card appears inside! You remove the card and show that it is solid with no holes. Those of you that are thinkers can visualize that this would be a very strong finish to your favourite selected card to impossible location. Truly amazing magic that is perfect for strolling, close-up or just for fun!
You really do need to see this one to believe it. Imagine - Magician performs a standard ambitious card effect where a spectator's signed card jumps from the top of the deck to the bottom and vice-versa. What happens next is virtually amazing, as the performer holds the deck of cards in his hand (upon which the entire deck can be visually seen clearly), takes the spectators' chosen and signed card and puts it back into the middle of the deck - very cleanly and clearly mind you. A new utility device with a wide range of applications from Masuda. Brilliantly simple. Self-working. A deck of cards is removed from its case. The joker is placed into the empty case while the spectator selects a card from the pack. The performer picks up the still open card case, showing the joker inside. He flicks his finger against the box, and suddenly the joker changes into the chosen card! The box is empty.
The performer shows a picture of a wine bottle and a glass. He then introduces a piece of black paper and a hole puncher. Then he punches a hole in the paper. He picks up a small circular piece dropped from the punch and explains that it looks like a real hole when it is placed on the photograph. Then he makes a magical gesture, the circular piece begins to move by itself. The performer waves his finger under the photo to show that the small piece of paper has turned into a real hole. Spectators can see his finger through the hole. The magicians then actually drags the punched hole to the edge of the picture and then back again if he wishes. Then as a Grande finale he physically removes the dot from the photo altogether! The performer then shows both sides of the photo to prove there is nothing funny about the picture. This is an amazing visual effect you have to have! You won't be disappointed.
Predict a randomly selected time with nothing more complicated than a photograph. No electronics, no complicated gimmicks. Explain that you have a photo block with a picture of a pocket watch inside a plastic cover on your table. Ask him to name any hour. Remove the photo block and show the chosen hour frozen in the photograph!
This visually, stunning trick will fool virtually every magician who see it performed. Not just another card trick¾a visible transformation. For those of you familiar with Masuda, you know he is unquestionably one of magic's greatest innovators. It looks as if he's done it again! EFFECT: The magician holds a packet of 16 cards with a joker on top. When the joker is lifted the audience can see a star shaped hole in the corner of all remaining cards. The joker is waved below the deck and can be seen through the hole. The magician then places the joker back on top of the deck. With simply a few magic words, the joker is removed, the cards are restored and all holes are gone! The audience can even examine the packet! Imagine having a spectator freely select any card (no force). The card is signed and replaced back into the deck. You state that by magic you will make their card rise to the top of the deck. You snap your fingers and turn over the top card, while you are waiting for your big applause your spectator tells you it's not their card.
This indifferent card is slid into a paper-thin clear black plastic sleeve just large enough to hold the card.
While the sleeve is held between thumb and forefinger, and with no hand movement of any kind, the indifferent card slowly and visibly changes into the signed selection!
