ABOUT THE ART OF AGEING PROPS
This is a shortened excerpt from a longer segment on ageing props, originally featured in Tackling Terrifying Taboos 9. Jamie demonstrates how to convincingly age props for bizarre magic and mentalism. Using pre-aged paper and envelopes, distress inks, sponges, sandpaper, edge distressers and rubber stamps, he gradually adds yellowing, worn edges, creases, scuffs and stains so the props appear naturally old and handled rather than artificially “burnt” or theatrical.
