“Do As I Do” is an exceptionally commercial plot, and in this version John’s handling is simple, fair, and highly engaging. Two decks of cards are freely shuffled and cut. Both John and the participant cut to a card, remember it, and then turn half of each deck face up before shuffling the halves together, creating complete chaos in both decks. The decks are then swapped, and each person removes their selection from the other’s deck. Somehow, impossibly, both selections match.
