Underhanded Thoughts is a drawing duplication routine in which a participant secretly draws a simple image on a blank card while the performer looks away. The performer then attempts to determine what has been drawn without seeing the card. After apparently narrowing the drawing down to two possibilities, the routine seems to go wrong when the performer commits to the incorrect image. The ending reveals a final twist that turns the apparent failure into a successful prediction of the participant’s drawing. A simple, direct piece of mentalism built around drawing duplication, mind reading and an unexpected climax.
