Static Boom by Reg Martin

In the 1980s, Reg Martin who is an associate member of the Inner Magic Circle (Silver Star) in London created a PK-style effect that was not only incredibly visual, but delivered a brilliantly surprising moment that audiences simply never saw coming. In fact, the effect was so strong that the moment Paul Daniels saw it, he insisted on featuring it on his TV show.

During lockdown, Reg approached the Alakazam team with a question… would we like to bring this incredible piece of magic back to the market? The answer was an instant and resounding yes.

Each Static Boom (originally known as Match-O-Static) gimmick has been meticulously handmade by Mike Ingham, built to Reg’s exact specifications, and manufactured using a genuine Swan Vesta matchbox (please note: matches are not included).
