The Effect

Two spectators shuffle a deck of photo cards. Without saying a word, you show them the images as you place the cards on the table. Then, you reveal: “Believe it or not, I’ve just influenced you.”

Each spectator goes through the photos one by one, deciding whether to keep or reject each card. At the end:

1. The rejected pile is revealed first—it’s a mix of cards with male genetic symbols on blue backs and female symbols on pink backs.
2. Spectator 1’s chosen cards are flipped—all feature the Male Genetic symbol with blue backs. This revelation always gets gasps!
3. Spectator 2 turns over their chosen cards—every single one has the Female Genetic symbol with pink backs.
