"Are You Sure?" - when choice is only an illusion
Are You Sure? is a brilliant routine created by Damien Vappereau & Marc Céliandre. A card is placed in the spectator's hand from the very beginning. It never moves. It never changes. And yet... the entire routine revolves around it.
On this card: numbers, choices, possibilities. The magician asks the spectator to think of a number between 1 and 4.
Are You Sure?
The spectator freely names a number, convinced they are deciding the outcome of the effect. The magician then removes the corresponding card... and miracle: it is exactly the same as the one printed on the back of the card the spectator has been holding since the start.
Freedom vs. Illusion
Coincidence? Premonition? Subtle manipulation? With Are You Sure?, the spectator realizes that their choice may not have been a choice at all.
