A few years ago, Kyle Purnell released an ESP routine called The Elimination Experiment and the moment we saw it, we fell in love. It instantly became part of many magicians professional working repertoire.

But Kyle being Kyle, he couldn’t resist taking it further. There were a few things he wanted to tweak and improve… so he went back to the drawing board and  BAM! The Elimination Experiment 2 was born!

And let me tell you, he’s absolutely hit it out of the park!

The Effect

You display a set of five colourful ESP cards and ask your spectator to choose any one to eliminate for the experiment.

Let’s say they choose to eliminate the square,  there’s no equivoque, the one they name is the one you remove.

Their chosen symbol is placed out of the way inside a neat letter-style wallet (which we’ve custom designed and manufactured especially for this routine).

You now turn over the four remaining cards and they’re all seen to have writing on the backs. The eliminated card, however, is completely clean.

Coincidence? Not a chance!

When you show the writing on the backs of the remaining cards, it reads:
“YOU WILL ELIMINATE THE SQUARE.”

It’s a jaw-dropping revelation that gets an incredible reaction every time.

Phase Two - The Knockout

Now it’s time to take it up a notch.

You ask your spectator to think of one of the remaining symbols. This time, you say you’ll eliminate every other card except the one they’re merely thinking of.

You turn over the other cards and their faces are now blank!
You even remove the previously eliminated square from the wallet and that one’s blank too!

We all know how strong a blank card ending is, and this one absolutely freaks people out!
