"Great stuff man!"
- Roddy McGhie
Welcome to my first episode of my Signature Series, this is SAUCY.
These Signature Series releases will all be material I have honed over years in my professional repertoire. They either have had or still have a firm, cemented place in my working sets. This is real world working material and I share EVERYTHING from method and effect to all the tips and ideas for performing that I have learned over the years. These are not ideas that have been created to sell, these are ideas that were created for me PERSONALLY to use myself. It's just I feel now that I am ready to share them.
THEY FEEL THE MAGIC
At its core SAUCY is a card in sealed sachet routine, but the beautiful thing about the structure of this routine is that it is all centered around making your spectators FEEL the magic. It is this structure that elevates SAUCY above a normal impossible location plot.
It begins with a prediction that turns out to be correct, which happens to be Ketchup (or whatever sachet you are using!). A playing card is then chosen and a piece is torn from it and handed to the spectator. the rest of the card vanishes at your FINGERTIPS, it is entirely gone, vanished, disappear-ed!
You then ask the spectators to now feel the Ketchup sachet and impossibly it now feels hard, it is no longer full of ketchup. The sachet is completely sealed and can be inspected before your spectator tears it open themselves to find inside the chosen card. Of course the piece they have been holding the whole time matches perfectly, not almost, not very closely, but EXACTLY.
Your spectators will sell this effect for you as their model of reality collapses and they realize the once squishy sauce sachet is now rigid!
If you want you can then go on to restore the torn piece from the playing card.
"Love it! It's the walk around worker's bill in orange but a card in Sauce. Fantastic"
- John Morton (Imposter, The Baby Book)
WHAT IS INCLUDED
- Alan Rorrison ( Slick, Thru, Prohibition Monte)
Some routines get laughs, some get astonishment, some disbelief, SAUCY gets ALL three of them!
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT SAUCY
"Impossible location is my favourite plot in magic. I LOVE this routine and how 'organic' it is. (Urgh, did I just say that.)
"Ben's teaching style is a performance in itself - it's really enjoyable to watch and easy to learn from. This project covers WAY more than you can imagine, Ben covers so much and you know he know's what he's talking about. At 1.5hrs long, it's not too long like other magic tutorials. It's the perfect length to learn all the information. I can't wait to see what's next in the 'Signature Series'.I'm off now to get my hands all SAUCY..."
- Elliott Bibby (Insane Magic)
"This project is just simply delicious on so many levels. Ben shares every detail as per usual and his passion for this is transparent and it's clear why. This is an absolute banger, the definition of modern, relatable and memorable magic."
- Brendan Dooley
"I've had the pleasure of seeing and experiencing this firsthand, and honestly, it's something very special.
What Ben has created here isn't just a trick, it's a true piece of magical art. It goes far beyond a single moment of impact and instead builds layer upon layer of conviction. As a performer, you're not just showing something, you're guiding your audience through an experience. They don't just see the impossible, they feel it, they hear it, and they live it. That's what makes this so powerful. Every phase adds another level of impossibility, tightening the effect in a way that feels completely natural yet utterly baffling."It's rare to find something that engages multiple senses so cleanly while still being practical and performable. I genuinely love this. It's thoughtful, deceptive, and beautifully constructed. Ben hasn't just created a method, he's created a moment. And that's what real magic should be. My sincere admiration goes to both the effect and its creator. This is something I'm proud to perform. And as if that wasn't enough... it somehow leaves me craving another cup of coffee every time I perform it."
- Josh Maddocks (Professional Magician)
"Was doing a trade show today and performed it to the MD as my finale. He loved it, but I loved his reaction when he suddenly realised that the ketchup sachet isn't filled with ketchup anymore! And the way he explained the experience to others after was a joy to hear."
- William Poliet (Professional Magician and Pas President of Coventry Magic Circle)
"Utterly fooling without a doubt! Ben goes above and beyond to explain every nuance and even walks us through his thoughts as he performs. Saucy isn't just a trick but a system, where the individual pieces can be applied to other tricks as well. If you have Labelled Evolution, you know exactly how thorough Ben is and how powerful and convincing he can make the object to impossible/ sealed location. The routine for Saucy itself is perfectly streamlined, with every move justified and natural looking. Multiple options for each phase included for various environments and "audience burn" levels. This routine will certainly add flavour to your repertoire. No pun intended!"
- Prashanth
"I always find it super cool how you explain things, always jovial, motivating and motivated, your naturalness really brings something! I love your character! In addition, technically you explain really well. Things are clear, even if for a beginner some things will not necessarily speak to them. But I don't think this project is aimed at beginners. (if this is the case, maybe we should dwell a little more on the techniques you use) but for someone who has small bases there is no problem!
I really liked the "pocket management" section I think it's super useful. I also like the extra ideas, now I'm just looking for sachets to use! When I do my shopping I will no longer look at the packaging in the same way, so many possibilities!"
- Julio Santos
"FAVORITE PARTS...
- Corner switches (all 3 methods are super practical and deceptive!)
- TT advice and tips and using it in a way that doesn't seem unnatural.
- Pocket management (hardly any other tutorial I've seen has gone into this amount of detail, and it's so helpful - especially when repeating it multiple times a night.)
- Extras (audio illusion to create the shaking sound - LOVE IT!) And the stickers tip you gave so you can double check what card is in the sachet is great.
Overall, I love it, and I'll use it. It's a super practical, super strong piece of magic that doesn't need to be saved as a "once per gig" type of effect. I can't see why any close up performer wouldn't want to add this to their set."
- Charlie Robinson (Professional Magician)
"You b**tard!!!! I can easily say SAUCY was trick of the night! It's so damn good!"

- John Morton (Imposter, The Baby Book)
WHAT IS INCLUDED
- 1 1/2 hours of video tuition
- Fully tested routine, taught in detail. All the little details I have worked out over years of performing this effect.
- A no glue, no tape, no crisp/chip bag re-sealer solution to sealing any sauce sachet.
- Pocket Management section, this teaches you how I am set to go when working, what goes in what pocket so that everything is smooth during performance.
- My time tested and streamlined way to reset after each performance making it easy and quick to perform this effect over and over again.
- Performance commentary. This is a new idea of mine that NO ONE has done before. Watch two full performances shot at events where I commentate over the video to tell you EXACTLY what was going on inside my head whilst performing, what I was looking at, what I was caring about and what I was thinking.
- Extra Ideas. Want to use the technique for something else? How about a finding a prediction inside a sachet or a sauce transposition? Want to restore the card at the end, yep, you'll learn that too! This section is all about inspiring you to discover and create different routines with this technique.
- 3 unique and new corner switch techniques. All three switches are simple to execute and have no discrepancies. Two were also designed specifically so that the spectators can be BURNING you the whole time, they don't need misdirection.
- Vanish section different vanishes are taught, from sleight of hand to my personal favorite vanish that uses an age old gimmick with my unique handling and subtleties.
- Alan Rorrison ( Slick, Thru, Prohibition Monte)
